Hollywood always presents fiction when it comes to fire sprinklers

They always represent all the sprinklers that are shot throughout the building. This is simply not the case. First, you would need an Olympic-sized pool to feed all the sprinklers, and most buildings don’t have one of those. Secondly, sprinklers are equipped with a waxy material that melts at a specific temperature: in this way, a source of strong heat (e.g., a fire) more or less directly under a sprinkler will melt that stopper. wax and, therefore, will open the flow of water through the sprinkler. Unless the fire is also very close to another sprayer, it will NOT melt the waxy plug.

filmmaking

This is not simply annoying, but Hollywood is causing the loss of life. Due to the widespread practice of how sprinklers are represented in films, people will tend to get discouraged when installing sprinkler systems in homes and office buildings. I know, because I hesitated when I faced that question. My misunderstanding was based on what happens in the movies. He did not want the entire house destroyed. The fire officer corrected me and explained the insidious effect of Hollywood on people’s understanding of these systems. You almost never see a movie that shows sprinkler systems that work the way they really work. And that is a shame.

Thousands of people ask Netflix to cancel Amazon Prime Good Omens

More than 20,000 Christians have signed a petition for the cancellation of Good Omens, the television series adapted from the fantasy novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman of 1990, which unfortunately is directed to Netflix when the series is made by Amazon Prime.

The six-part series was released last month, starring David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale, who collaborate to prevent the arrival of the antichrist and an impending apocalypse. Pratchett’s last request to Gaiman before he died was that he adapt the novel they wrote together; Gaiman wrote the script and worked as a showrunner in the BBC / Amazon co-production, which Radio Times called “a devilishly funny love letter to the book.”

But Christians organized by the Return to Order campaign, a branch of the United States Foundation for a Christian civilization, do not agree. More than 20,000 supporters have signed a petition saying Good Omens is “another step to make satanism seem normal, light and acceptable,” and “mocks the wisdom of God.” God, they complain, it is “expressed by a woman” – Frances McDormand – the antichrist is a “normal child” and, most importantly, “this kind of video brings to light Truth, Error, Good and Evil , and it destroys the barriers of the horror that society still has for the devil. “They are calling Netflix to cancel the program.

Return to Order is based on the writings of author John Horvat II. “He calls on Americans to put the principles into practice by working towards what is called an organic Christian society.” Another request in April called on Walmart to “stop selling satanic products” after a protest in 2018 against a “blasphemous ice cream chain called Sweet Jesus.”

One child policy in China

In late 1970s, due to the widespread poverty, then Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping viewed the Chinese population under his rule as a huge burden, instead of a productive force. A big decision was made overnight, by a few high-rank Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, that each Chinese couple can only have one child, in their entire lives.

The policy was firmly implemented with little mercy. At its peak, there was a competition among some Chinese counties on how tightly the local CCP leader could control his/her people, so that there would be no newborn baby at all — in the entire county (in China, each county typically has a half to 1 million people). The record was 100 days.

CCP members put out propaganda slogans in villages and towns: a single “redundant” baby, all neighbors tube-tied. So everyone has to spy his/her neighbors.
One child policy in China

Some young couples had the courage to escape from their home towns and managed to have more than 1 kids. They usually lived difficult lives. Pop songs and stand up comedy shows were mass-produced and widely broadcasted, under the direction of CCP Department of Propaganda, to encourage citizens to discriminate these “excessively fertile rogues”.

It was reported that 200,000,000 to 300,000,000 babies were “efficiently prevented” this way.

In November 2013, following the Third Plenum of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, China announced the decision to relax the one-child policy. Under the new policy, families could have two children if one parent, rather than both parents, was an only child.

The truth? In the past 30 years, the ENTIRE China enjoyed a 50%-DINK structure, which greatly helped her economical growth — for this generation. But now, China is heading to a severely aging population, at a dangerous speed.

Gay Pride • LGBT • Pride Parade Facts

LGBT – Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender social movements are social movements that advocate for LGBT people in society. Social movements may focus on equal rights.

1. There are approximately 140 LGBT pride parades in the U.S.

You can find pride parades in every state with numerous cities supporting its local communities. Pride month is celebrated from coast to coast with even Hawaii and Alaska taking part in the festivities.

2. There are over 5.5 million participants at LGBT pride parades, which only accounts for 10 major U.S. cities.

America has made giant leaps since the seemingly feeble thousands that have marched in 1970. As there are currently no hard statistics on the total number of parade participants, this is a rough estimate of 2015’s attendees from Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington DC. We can only expect numbers to rise in 2016!

3. The biggest pride parade in the world is held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In 2006, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized Sao Paulo, Brazil as the biggest pride parade in the world. Currently attracting over 5 million participants, Sao Paulo Pride even offers travel packages for the full experience.

4. The smallest pride parade in the world is held in Sligo, Ireland.

Although homosexuality and gay marriage are legal in Ireland, Sligo continues to hold the spot for smallest pride parade in the world of only 100 participants. Despite being the smallest, locals say this may be one of the friendliest parades in Northwest Ireland.

5. The profits of LGBT pride parades are used for organizing events, and any remaining profit is sent back to support LBGT groups and future projects.

Ever wonder where your contributions are actually going? Each pride parade is organized by a non-profit organization that varies by city, which is supported by donations and sponsors. As the parades increase in volume, this means each year can become more costly. Funds are used for parade essentials, such as supplies and insurance, and remaining profit is used to support LGBT groups.

6. Some of the biggest U.S. corporate sponsors of Pride 2016 are Hilton, TD Bank, T-Mobile, and Bud Light.

Although hundreds of companies continue to make contributions, these are the largest corporations spending the big bucks as this year’s presenting sponsors across America. Hilton is Capital Pride’s National Presenting Sponsor with three years of support for LGBT pride parades. T-Mobile is the presenting sponsor of Seattle Pride, and Bud Light is the presenting sponsor for both Pride Houston and San Francisco Pride. Although not a presenting sponsor, TD Bank is a dedicated platinum sponsor for NYC Pride with over a decade of support under their belt.

7. The Stonewall Inn was once owned by the New York Mafia.

The Stonewall Inn holds great significance in why today’s pride parades even exist. The Genovese crime family, known as one of the craftiest mob groups, took advantage of the sparse gay nightlife scene and unintentionally reopened Christopher Street’s former club as one of history’s most significant gay bars.

The first national gay rights organization, the Mattachine Society, was formed in 1951, was created by Harry Hay

LGBT, or GLBT, is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender

8. The word “pride” was made popular by Brenda Howard, the Mother of Pride.

We can thank Brenda Howard – an LGBT activist – for establishing “pride” as something you don’t even think twice about saying. It’s said that she chose the word “pride” simply because she “thought it should be”.

9. The rainbow flag was created by a former Vietnam War veteran.

You wouldn’t automatically think of war veterans as drag queens until Gilbert Baker’s incredible LGBT contributions. Encouraged by the infamous politician, Harvey Milk, Baker created a colorful LGBT symbol in 1978 that resonates with people worldwide. Each color has significance; red is for life, orange is for healing, yellow is for sunlight, green is for nature, blue is for harmony, and purple is for spirit. We can thank Baker for any fabulously dyed, gay menswear on the market.

10. There are approximately 77 countries where LGBT pride parades are not allowed due to anti-homosexuality laws.

As much as the world is progressing with LGBT acceptance, there are still countries that consider homosexuality a crime. Some of the heaviest anti-homosexuality laws exist in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Nigeria, Singapore, Malaysia, and Mauritania. Although homosexuality is not illegal in Russia, this European country is actually regressing with accepting the LGBT communities. A recent Russian, anti-LGBT flag was created alongside the hashtag: #ARealFamily. Flock to Spain, England, Brazil, Canada, or the Netherlands for the most lively international pride parades.

Men Don’t Like to Talk About Their Prison Sex

In 2014, the Howard League for Penal Reform published a report on sex between inmates and staff in England and Wales, which found both male and female prisoners had sex with each other and staff in exchange for favors. These results could be skewed due to prisoners wanting to give the idea they are or aren’t having sex with fellow inmates; women may want to project one image, men another.

A former prison worker who spent time in both a men’s and women’s facility noted the only concrete thing about the report was it’s notation that women were more open about sex than men.

The main difference when it comes to sex in a male and female prison is the level of openness. There were male inmates that would have sex together, and there were male inmates that would have sex with male members of staff. But this was something that was generally frowned upon due to the level of machismo that is prevalent in mainstream society. Some inmates would get involved in sexual relationships but it was never spoken about openly.
