    I know OP meant “departed” but my sleepy brain read it as “deported” and that’s what really made me go “WTF?!” The saving teeth from dead relatives thing isn’t that strange to me, considering some cultures keep a lock of hair from their loved ones.

    In the top left, those are “Grandeln”, a traditional jewelery/trophies hunters have in Bavaria. Those are mostly made from stag eye teeth and not human teeth.
