Just about everyone is aware that actress Jennifer Lawrence, along with many other celebrities, had nude photos stolen and posted all over the internet after her iCloud account was hacked. The University of Strathclyde used the scandal to their advantage to promote their internet security campagin, but the way they did it was just not ok.
They put posters up on campus implying that had Lawrence just used a stronger password, she wouldn’t have had her photos leaked. The University promptly responded, and thankfully, the posters appear to be in the process of being taken down. Let’s hope they can find a different way to teach their students about how to stay secure on the internet.
